Who is behind Patagonia Overlander?

WE ARE CARO & VIC

Chileans, who love to travel and fell in love with Patagonia

This combination made us develop this project called Patagonia Overlander.

In 2013 we began a journey from Canada to Alaska, reaching the Arctic Circle line on the Dempster Highway and back to Tierra del Fuego, ending in Ushuaia in March 2017. This crossing we call “UpaChalupa!” It took us 3 years and 8 months, the most beautiful of our lives.

Our vehicle, that we called “Piscola”, a truck that runs on recycled vegetable oil, was our home, office and companion all those years.

AYSEN REGION

Love at first sight

When we crossed the Aysén region, we fell in love with it, its landscapes, its mountains, rivers and lakes, its people. This is why we decided to live here and little by little – very little by little – begin to build our dream.

Patagonia Overlander was born from the travel experience and the observation of the need for a place like the one we are developing on the Carretera Austral.

While we were traveling we discovered wonderful places where we met travelers and shared long hours of travel conversations together with a good dinner, a fire and a good wine. This experience was reflected in us as something that we would like to do when we finished the trip.

The simplicity and tranquility of the people we met traveling, made us see that the Overlander, as a client, would be ideal.

WE ARE YOUR NEXT DESTINATION ON THE CARRETERA AUSTRAL

BUILDING A DREAM

to share experiences

We have been living in Patagonia for 7 years, and it has not been easy, but the reward is always greater. We have known incredible places just 30 minutes from our house. Our neighbors are wonderful people who have taught us how to function in Patagonia, and being surrounded by pristine nature changes your way of life forever.

The Patagonia Overlander project is ambitious, since we do not know of places of this type on the Carretera Austral. That is why we wanted to develop it in stages to see how it evolves.

We do not intend to have a large campsite, we like the idea of a smaller, quiet and personalized place, a place where travelers who are making long journeys converge to tell stories and share experiences.

We want, through the people who arrive, to continue traveling, and plan our next adventure, which, for now, is this project.

Welcome everyone to Patagonia Overlander!
